• 2 Dec 1987. Typed letter (carbon) from Peter Hodgkiss to the Scottish Arts Council requesting funding for 2nd reprint: 'The original edition, published in 1984, sold out within a year. The reprint, published in November 1985, will, I estimate, be out-of-print within the next few months. In view of the importance of the book, which was nominated Scottish Book of the Year in 1984, I feel committed to ensuring it remains in print. Having already sold 2,000 copies in three years I think a reprint of 2,000 copies would be appropriate.'

Undated autograph letter from Bob Duncan (Tyne Tees Television letterhead) to Hodgkiss, passing on thanks from Andy Sanders of Glasgow: 'at the time of the miners' strike you supplied him with some slightly damaged Tom Leonard books - proceeds to the Strike Fund. He sold them all and the money went to the miners.'
• 6 Jul 1988. Hodgkiss to Scottish Arts Council, copy letter originally enclosing three copies of Intimate Voices (2nd reprint).
