The file comprises letters from Maggie O'Sullivan to Peter Hodgkiss concerning Divisions of Labour but no texts from the book. Also included, a selection of earlier poetry sent to Hodgkiss (most dated 1982).

(1). Letters received from O'Sullivan:

• 4 Jan 1982. Typed letter (2 sheets). Delighted to receive a positive response 'to the notion of a book and your suggestion of Novemberish 1982 is great because as yoiu so rightly say it gives me something to work towards.' In the meantime, O'Sullivan has agreed to a small selection of her work being published by Chris Hunt of Broken Ground Press: Concerning Spheres (1982).
• 25 Jul 1982. Typed letter (3 sheets). Encloses a number of poems (for which, see below), and a photocopy of a review (of the poetry of Perelman, Andrews and Bernstein) from The Village Voice (May 1982).
• 14 Jan 1985. Typed letter enclosing ideas (4 photocopy sheets) for the cover.
• 11 Mar 1985. Typed letter: 'Here at last is my typed stencil for Divisions of Labour - totalling 35 pages (not included in the file).
• 25 Sep 1985. Typed letter. Divisions of Labour now coming out next year. Encloses a photocopy review from City Limits of O'Sullivan, A Natural History in 3 Incomplete Parts (Magenta, 1985).
