Includes letters from Henry Fox, 1746 (f. 7), William Pitt the Elder, 1766 (f. 15), the Duc de Nivernais, 1769 (f. 19), Erasmus Darwin, 1772 (f. 24), and Earl Harcourt (ff. 32-37), and a letter to the Comte de St Germain, Paris, from the camp of Whitemarsh, Philadelphia, 1777, on French colonial strategy (ff. 38-43, incomplete).
