24 letters with envelopes (numbered 1 to 24) from Isobel Garrod at Naini Tal, United Provinces, writing to her husband who was on active service in Iraq.
The letters are mostly concerned with life in India, the education and health of their children, concerns over money and household expenses, the strain of their being separated, her social life, learning to become a wireless telegraphist (no.9), and news of family and friends and the British community in India at that time. There are ocassional comments on the wider political situation in India and the War, and news of the internment of a German fifth columnist (no.11).
Included as enclosures are some letters from their children Janet and Maidie (nos.10, 11, 20, 21), and one from his mother Kate Tozer (no.12).
