Correspondence regarding Musgrave's academic appointments, honorary degrees, the commissioning of a portrait (the one by Victoria Crowe), speaking engagements, and fellowships (notably, her two Guggenheim fellowships), as well as research enquiries into Musgrave and her compositions of an academic nature (including for encyclopedias). In order to avoid dispersing correspondence with a given individual academic, some personal and non-academic correspondence is also included here.There is no material relating to her appointment to University of California Santa Barbara (to cover for Peter Racine Fricker's sabbatical in 1960), although there are several letters relating to (or instigated by) her appointment to Queens College at the City University of New York, including copies of references.
