Recto (SB XXIV 16297, P.Lond. III 1270 ro. descr., TM 22865): Petition to an official from Aurelius Chaeremon, who asks that an assistant be sent to inspect and obtain information from a door-keeper, so that Chaeremon may be given what is due to him with the interest. With subscription of Aurelius Chaeremon at the end. Dated to 24 September 255 or 23 September 256.
Verso (SB XXIV 16298, P.Lond. III 1270 vo. descr., TM 31984): Fragmentary letter to the father of the author, who is urged to go home and look for some papers, including the petition submitted to the strategus against Apollinaris and a contract of division.

- Extent:
- Bottom of a papyrus sheet, broken off at the top and right (front), darkened in places and with insect holes and some surface damage; bearing writing on both sides. The front contains the foot of a column running along the fibres, with the beginnings of 9 lines and traces of another line at the top. Left and lower margins survive. There is a trace of ink in the left margin. The text on the back was written upside-down in relation to the text on the front, and across the fibres; 13 lines remain; the text breaks off at the bottom. The upper and side margins survive. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Script: Recto: Thin, skilled and neat cursive hand; different hand for the subscription at the end. Verso: Somewhat rough, slightly sloping hand, exhibiting some ligatures.
