The manuscript is formed by a text containing palm leaves numbered from 1 to 18 (leaves n° 6, 11 to 14 and 16 are missing) and 7 additional leaves belonging to another text but approaching the same subject: practice of varma. The manuscript is in average state, three of the additional leaves are broken.
The text, entitled Varma Cūttira Aḷavukōl, is written in prose in a language specific to the Nāñcil Nāṭu, southern part of the present Kerala, combining Tamil and Malaiyala terminologies. It presents diverse types of energy spots situated in the body (varma) and indicates the varmaṅkaḷ called tukirta kālam, ceyaṅkolli varmam, ciṟukolli, cevikuṟṟi kālam, kuruntu kurri kālam, culiyāṭi varmam, ucci varmam and porcey kālam which are located in the head and in the lower limb.
Size of the manuscript: 26.5cm x 3.4cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered from 1 to 18; the leaves 6, 11 to 14 and 16 are missing. Seven disparate leaves which do not belong to the text and two blank leaves have been placed at the end of the manuscript. The manuscript is in good condition, two leaves are broken.
