The manuscript is composed of a text which contains palm leaves numbered from 1 to 13; the leaf n°4 is missing. The manuscript is in average condition; infestation by strings of insect’s eggs has destroyed partly a line of the text.
The text, entitled Pala Tiraṭṭu Vākaṭam, is in Malayalam. It is written in both prose and verses. It concerns preparations of medicines and magic.
The medicinal preparations concern decoctions: Ēlāti kaṣāyam and Tirāṭcāti kaṣāyam; a medicated oil (tailam) for treating tooth ache (palvali); a medicated ghī called Karuñcūrai ney, and a ney for treating infertility in women (malaṭi); a waxy medicine called Muṭṭai kuḻampu; diverse medicines whose the category is not mentioned (maruntu) for treating oligurea (nīr tarippu), fever with chills (kuḷir vāta curam) and diarrhoea (aticāram); and some medicated fumes (pukai) for treating delirium (caṉṉi), colic pain (cūlai) and anal irritation (karaḷ kaṭuppu).
The magic acts concern: the acts to mesmerise women (peṇ vaciyam) and to remove certain ingested things from the stomach (ammiyil keṇṭi vaittu eṭukka) and the incantation of magic spells (uccāṭaṉam) by using animals: frog (tavaḷai), rat (eli), chameleon (ōntu), crocodile (mutalai) and fish (mīṉ).
Size of the manuscript: 34.0cm x 3.3cm. The palm leaves are numbred from 1 to 13; the leaf n°4 is missing and there is a leaf placed at the beginning of the text. The manuscript is in good condition. A line of the text is partly damaged in some leaves due to infestation by strings of insects' eggs.
