The manuscript contains a text numbered from 1 to 129 and from 200 to 211 and some disparate leaves; among them some have different writings. The manuscript is in good condition.
The main text deals with formulation of medicines, especially: Mēka cañcīvi ney; Mēka vāta kaṭuppu; Āṭātoṭai ney; Mantāra kāyccal lēkiyam and an eṇṇey for treating thirteen types of delirium. For some formulations, the disease to which the remedy is recommended is informed. This concerns the medicines for treating dysentery (kirāṇi) for which a dried plant powder (cūraṇam) is detailled, dysmenorrhoea (cūtaka vāyu), delirium (caṉṉi), headache (kapāla cūlai) and diseases of the skull (kapāla viyāti).
The text describes also purification of saltpetre (veṭiyuppu viparam) and its uses in medicinal preparations.
Size of the manuscript: 21.0cm x 3.2cm. The manuscript contains a text containing palm leaves numbered from 1 to 211 (missing leaves: 34, 77 and 130-199; double leaves: 50), 7 leaves without number, 1 leaf without number, 1 leaf numbered 35, 1 leaf numbered 34, 1 leaf numbered 77, 1 leaf without number, 1 leaf without number, and 6 blank leaves. The condition of the manuscript is very good; some leaves are slightly broken but do not affect the reading.
