Title in original script: அகத்தியர் நிகண்டு- 116
The manuscript is composed of a text written in verses. The text, complete, is formed by 31 leaves numbered from 1 to 29, the two last which are broken have no longer number. The manuscript is in bad condition; the leaves are darkened by fungus infestation and more and less affected by larvae, and seven first leaves as well as the two last ones are partly broken.
The text, entiled Akattiar Nikaṇṭu, concerns alchemical knowledge. It approaches subjects such as salts (uppu), fuller’s earth (vaḻalai) and soap stone (cavukkāram) used for preparing muppu, and litharge (ciṅki). The text is written in a metaphorical form, as it is the case for the alchemical knowledge which requires to be protected from misuse.
Size of the manuscript: 20.0cm x 3.8cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered in Tamil from 1 to 29; there are 2 broken leaves without numbering. The manuscript is extremely damaged by larvae and fungus. The leaves, breakable, are very dark.
