The manuscript is composed of a text of 16 palm leaves, written in verses. The text is incomplete. The manuscript is in very bad condition. As numerous leaves of the manuscript are broken, many of them have no longer number. The leaves have thus been ordered by the verse numbers which have shown that many leaves are missing.
The text describes formulations of medicines, with the quantity of raw material required, and the diseases for which they are recommended. The formulations which are mentioned are Pavaḷa paṟpam, medicines (not specified) for treating asthma (īlai), tuberculosis (kācam), a disease with symptoms similar to Parkinsons (talai naṭukkam), convulsions (valippu), diseases resulting from pitta imbalance such as mēl erivu, kāntal, tirēka kānti, venereal diseases (piramēkam), renal calculus (kallaṭaippu), strangulation of urine (mūttira ayarcci), menorrhagia (perumpāṭu), infertility (malaṭikkum piḷḷai piṟakka), diabetes mellitus (nīriḻivu), flatulence (vāyvu) and dysentery (vayiṟṟu pōkku). The text presents additionally the process to prepare muppu from the combination of three salts and the category cuṇṇam, calcined white medicines prepared from minerals.
Size of the manuscript: 38.5cm x 3.2cm. The text is formed of 16 leaves that are more and less broken so as the numbering is rarely present.
