The manuscript is formed of a text containing palm leaves numbered from 1 to 15; the leaf n° 7 is missing and the text is incomplete. The manuscript damaged by larvae and fungus is in bad condition and very fragile.
The text, written both in prose and verses, is entitled Kaṇmaṇi Cōtiṭam. It was written by Kumāra Svāmikaḷ. It presents the basics of astrology for which it describes the time of birth (lakṉam), the zodiacal signs (rāci), the names of the stars (naṭccattiram), and the stars corresponding to the zodiacal sign (rācikkuṟiya naṭccattiram), notably those favouring a particular zodiac sign (uccam) or causing damages (nīcam). It provides information on general astrological predictions (potuppalaṉ) and on those intrinsic to a particular day (kōcāra palaṉ).
Size of the manuscript: 27.5cm x 3.0cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered from 1 to 16; the leaf n°7 is missing. Two blank leaves are put at the beginning and at the end of the text. The manuscript, damaged by larvae and fungus, is in bad condition and very fragile.
