The manuscript contains 5 texts, among them one is a single leaf on with a yantiram is drawn. The texts are incomplete. The palm leaves are lightly affected by larvae; some of them are darkened by fungus infestation.
Text 1- The text, written in verses, contains palm leaves numbered from 12 to 43. The text presents formulations of the medicines: Tēṅkāy kaṭuku (plant residue from preparation of coconut oil, used for external treatment); Aiṅkōla tailam; Uppu kaṭṭu and Pāṣāṇa kaṭṭu; Kaiyāntakarai paṟpam; and Vaḻalai centūram, as well as a medicine, not named (maruntu) for treating urinary tract infection (mēkam), and an oil (eṇṇey) for reducing enlargement of lymph node in the groin region (araiyāppu). The text provides some information on sinusitis (pīṉicam). It also describes Cannabinis sativa (kokkā mūli), as well as the synthesis of benzoin (paraṅki vaippu).
Text 2- The text, entitled Koṅkaṇar Kalpam, is composed of palm leaves numbered from 1 to 23 on which 29 verses are written. It presents the clinical features of diverse diseases, the time of onset of these diseases and medicinal formulations. It describes the use Chebulic myrobalan (kaṭukkāy) to increase longevity (kaya kalpa).
Text 3- The text is a part of Akattiyar Vāta Nūl Cūttiram- 1200, composed of 26 verses written on palm leaves numbered from 1 to 16. It focuses on formulations of medicines, notably Liṅka kūṭṭu tailam, Turucu cuṇṇam, Nākāttira cuṇṇam, Kaṟuppu kaṭṭu, Vaṅka nīṟu and Cantirōtayam, as well as some pills (karukkuru), centūram (calcined red salt based on metals and minerals), paṟpam (calcined white salt based on metals and minerals), ceyanīr (pungent medicine), kaḷaṅku (medicinal beads) and meḻuku (wax-like medicine). The text specifies the method to detoxify cinnabar and other metals, and describes fuller’s earth (vaḻalai, pūnīṟu), mercuric chloride (vīram), and a plant used in the treatment of urinary tract infections (mēkamūli). It discusses agonist (catru) and antagonist (mitru) actions of drugs.
Additionally, it explains the appropriate method to worship the goddess Tēvi (Tēvi pūcai).
Text 4- The text is composed of a leaf presenting vairava yantIram.
Text 5- The text is composed of 30 palm leaves with and without number, written in prose. The text presents, on the one hand, some medicinal formulations and describes the raw material used in the formulations. The medicines which are concerned are: Cittira vallāti lēkiyam, Liṅka centūram, Vaṅka centūram, Tāmira paṟpam, Vāta eṇṇey and Kommaṭṭi kuḻampu.
On the second hand, it provides information on the medicines for treating health issues: all diseases (carva viyāti), venereal diseases (veṭṭai, vaṟaṭci), growth in the uterus (kerppa vippuruti), anemia caused by poisoning (viṣa pāṇṭu), blood vomiting (vāyāl utiram kakkutal), jaundice (kāmālai), diarrhoea (virēcaṇam), ascites (makōtaram), gastric ulcer (kuṇmam), enlargement of spleen (kulaimuṭṭi), scrotal swelling (aṇṭa vātam), convulsion (mocal vali), tooth ache (palvali), migraine (oruttalaivali) and enlargement of lymph node in groin (araiyāppu). It presents an ointment (kaḷimpu) for healing incurable wounds (āṟāta puṇkaḷ) and oils (eṇṇey) for treating types of convulsion (valippu, mocal vali), diarrhea (pēti) and abdominal colic in hemorrhoids (mūlattil eḻunta vayiṟu kaṭuppu).
Size of the manuscript: 13,3cm x 2,6cm. The palm leaves of the text 1 are numbered from 11 to 43, of the text 2 from 1 to 23, of the text 3 from 1 to 16. The text 4, not numbered, has a single leaf and the text 5 is formed of 30 leaves, numbered and not numbered. The manuscript is lightly damaged by larvae; a few leaves are darken by fungus.
