The manuscript is composed of a text whose the 37 palm leaves are numbered from 1 to 51. The manuscript, severely damaged by larvae, is extremely fragile.
The text is written in prose, in Grantha and Tamil scripts and its language uses many Telugu words. It concerns formulation of medicines for which it informs on the quantity of raw material, the processes of purification and the different types of calcination.
The formulations which are exposed are:
Medicated oils: Tovarai eṇṇey
Electuaries: Uḷḷi racāyaṇam and Cēṅkoṭṭai valāti
Calcined white medicine prepared from metals and minerals: Nāka paṟpam, Māltēvi paṟpam, Raca paṟpam, Kuṭavaṉa paṟpam, Kalnār paṟpam and Cilācattu paṟpam.
Calcined red medicine prepared from metals and minerals: Raca centūram and Lavaṇa raca centūram
Stone-like medicine: Pala carakku kaṭṭu and Cāra kaṭṭu
Wax-like medicine: Liṅka meḻuku
Pickle-like medicine: Ūṟukāy maruntu
The text presents the method to prepare the acid, mahā tirāvakam, and to make artificially resin of Boswellia serrata (cāmpirāṇi vaippu).
The text includes some notes on drug formulations developed by Taṉvantiri and an explanation in prose of the text entitled Pulippāṇi Palatiraṭṭu- 10.
Size of the manuscript: 30,0cm x 3,0cm. The palm leaves are numbered from 1 to 51; the leaves 2, 5, 8, 10, 11, 13, 20-22, 27, 28, 31-33 are missing. Two additional blank leaves open and close the text. The manuscript, severely damaged by larvae, is very fragile.
