The manuscript is constituted of 24 palm leaves numbered from 2 to 44. Its condition is average as the leaves are more and less damaged by larvae and insects
The text, written in prose, concerns formulations of medicine, including a few belonging to ayurvedic pharmacopeia, for which it specifies the quantity of raw material, the targeted diseases, and the adjuvant. The siddha formulations presented in the text are some medicated oils: Meruka eṇṇey, Mukkūṭṭu eṇṇey, Arakkeṇṇey, Erukka eṇṇey and Viṣamuṭṭi tailam; a wax-like medicine: Kantaka meḻuku; and calcined medicines: Mirutāra ciṅki paṟpam, Cempu centūram and Kalnār centūram. Those belonging to ayurvedic pharmacopeia concern some medicated oils: Makā rakasyāti tailam, Nētra rōka tailam, Maṇipanta cīrakāti tailam; and electuaries: Makā cittāti lēkiyam, Caupākya cuṇṭi lēkiyam and Tintirīṇi lēkiyam. The text specifies a medicine (not named) for treating two types of fever (asti curam and māṟal curam) and medicated oils (tailam) for treating sinusitis (pīṉicam) and diseases caused by vāta imbalance. It exposes clearly the process to purify copper (cempu cutti) and to calcine medicinal products.
Size of the manuscript: 25,0cm x 3,6cm. The palm leaves are numbered from 2 to 44; the leaves 6-9, 14, 1, 17, 19, 21-23, 25, 30-34, 36, and 39 are missing. The manuscript is in average condition; the leaves are darkened, some are very damaged by larvae and many are partly broken.
