Upper papyrus (A) (P.Lond. III 1316(a), TM 38317): Sixth- or seventh-century receipt acknowledging payment of a sum of gold carats for the annona made by Phoebammon on behalf of his wife. Issued by two tax officials (diastoleis) through an intermediary.
Lower papyrus (B) (SB XX 14457, P.Lond. III 1316(b) descr., TM 23744): Receipt given by Silvanus, ex-soldier from Hermopolis, to the farmer Victor, from Selilais, acknowledging the payment made for rent. Written by Flavius Petrus, Silvanus’ son, and dated to 541-542 or 556-557.

Two small papyrus sheets, housed in the same glass frame.
Upper papyrus (A): Complete, written on both sides along the fibres, the back having one line in the upper part of the sheet; the front has 6 lines; margins are extant.
Lower papyrus (B): Abraded in places; written on one side, with the back blank. On the front, there are 9 lines running across the fibres, the last being compressed.
