The volume records baptisms of enslaved and free individuals that took place between 09 Dec 1827 and 30 Jul 1853 in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção de Cabo Frio in Cabo Frio, Brazil. The opening charter was signed on 30 Jun 1799 by Vicar Manoel Almeida Barros (Barreto ?) and the closing charter on 23 Jan 1827 by Municipal Judge Ignacio Cardoso da Silva. Some "alforrias de pia"--manumissions at the baptismal font--are recorded. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Manoel Lopes Castro, José Francisco Marques, and Ignacio Felizardo Fortes.
Physical characteristics: The volume has 311 numbered folios. It is missing pages; some of the folios have come loose from the binding; are torn; and/or ink damaged.Dimensions: 30 cm x 21.5 cm.
