The volume records marriages of enslaved, freed, and free people registered in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção de Cabo Frio in Cabo Frio, Brazil between 28 Nov 1675 and 01 Oct 1730. The opening charter is dated 1679 and is unsigned, while the closing charter is dated 03 Aug 1679 and has an illegible signature. The cover is from another book and is dated 1600 - 1604. The following clergy signed the entries: Commissioned Vicar Antonio Ribeiro do Amaral; Jorge Pereira Sodré; Manoel Peixoto de Vasconcelos; Fr. Angelo de (?); Jeronimo de (?); Miguel Luis Freire; Fr. Lucas da Conceição; Antonio de Lima; and other individuals whose signatures are illegible.
Physical characteristics: The volume is comprised of 92 unnumbered, deteriorated folios. Folios 53 to 69V and 76 through 82 are blank. The volume exhibits a high level of deterioration due to insect damage. Dimensions: 32 cm x 23 cm.
