The volume records baptisms of enslaved individuals registered in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Rio Bonito, Rio Bonito-RJ.There are no opening or closing charters. The entries date from 30 Apr 1809 to 13 Jan 1828. A number of slaves owned by Ensign Francisco Chavier de Moraes appear, as do baptisms of adults and freed (forro) godparents. The following clergy signed the entries: José de Almeida Lima; Vicar Antonio Luiz de Oliveira Fontes; Coadjutor Francisco Roza (?); Father Joaquim Pereira dos Reis; Alvaro Evangelista; Coadjutor Alvaro Pereira dos Reis; Coadjutor José da Trindade Cardozo Ribeiro; Vicar Antonio Maria Ribas Jardim.
Physical characteristics: The volume is comprised of 290 numbered folios with a cover. It received treatment with Japanese paper and has some parts that are illegible due to ink deterioration. Dimensions: 33cm x 23cm.
