The volume records slave baptisms registered in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Rio Bonito. The entries date from 22 Jan 1843 to 17 Apr 1858. The opening charter is dated 10 Dec 1851, while the closing charter is dated 16 Dec 1851. Both were signed by Francisco (?) Cavalcanti de Albuquerque. The following clergy signed the entries: Vicar Tito Pr.a [Pereira] Carvalho; Coadjutor Joaquim da Rocha (?); Pro Parocho Manoel Joaquim Cattarino; Vicar Virtulino Bezerra Cavalcanti.
Physical characteristics: The volume is comprised of 193 numbered folios, which have come loose from the binding and show signs of ink damage. The interior extremities of the volume have been severely damaged by insects. Dimensions: 35cm X 21cm.
