The volume records baptisms of children born to enslaved mothers after tha passage of Law 2.040/1871 (The "Free Womb" Law). The opening and closing charters are dated 02 Jun 1881 and were signed by Section Chief Aureliano (?) Barbosa. Entries date from 31 Jun 1881 to 06 Mar 1888. The Bishop of Petrópolis, Francisco, closed the volume on folio 84 with a pastoral visit. There is a record of an enslaved woman belonging to Captain João Hilário de Menezes Drumond. Vicar Virtulino Bezerra Cavalcanti signed each entry.
