The volume records slave burials registered in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Rio Bonito. Entries date from 10 Dec 1799 through 08 Aug 1815, although they do not appear in chronological order--the volume opens on folio 72, with an entry dated 09 Aug 1807. The volume does not have an opening or closing charter. There is a record of a pastoral visit by Vicar Barboza on 26 Oct 1813. The following African ethnonyms appear: Angola.The following clergy signed the entries: Vicar Jozé de Almeida Lima, Coadjutor Antonio Luis de Oliveira Cortes, Vicar Joaquim (Joaq.m) Pereira (P.ra) dos Reis, and Coadjutor Alvaro Evangelista.
Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 168 folios bound out of chronological order. It has a cover and shows sign of ink and insect damage. Dimensions: 30cm x 20.5 cm.
