The volume contains burial records of enslaved people registered in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Rio Bonito. Entries date from 22 Oct 1815 to 01 Apr 1827. The opening charter is dated 16 Oct 1815 and was signed by Antonio Roiz de Miranda, general vicar. The closing charter is dated 08 Oct 1815 and was signed by João Loureiro de Araujo, who also numbered the folios. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Coadjutor Alvaro Pereira dos Reis, Vicar Joaquim Pereira dos Reis, Coadjutor José da Trindade Cardozo Ribeiro, and Vicar Antonio Maria Ribas Sandim.
Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 193 numbered folios that have come loose from their original binding. Many of the folios show signs of deterioration and thus the entries are difficult to read. Dimensions: 21cm x 31cm. Due to their fragile condition, folios 2 (f) - 5 (v) and 120 (v) - 130 (v) were not photographed.
