The volume records the baptisms of enslaved, free, and free individuals registered in the church of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, Saquarema-RJ. Entries date from 25 Nov 1855 to 30 Aug 1858. An individual with an illegible signature signed the opening charter on 06 Jun 1854; the closing charter was signed on 16 Aug 1854 by João Ferreira da Silva Medella. The following clergy signed the entries: José Nunes Martins and Raphael Teixeira Azevedo Machado. Some of the baptized are natives (naturals) of Rio Bonito.
Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 99 numbered folios. It has a cover and some of the folios show signs of insect and ink damage, while others are in good condition. Dimensions: 38.5cm x 26cm.
