This volume contains burial and baptismal records of enslaved individuals registered in the church of Nossa Senhora do Desterro de Itambi, Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro. Entries date from 23 Sept 1719 through 27 Dec 1767. Burial records date from 1719-1742, while baptismal records date from 1765-1767. There is no opening charter; the closing charter was signed by Dr. Henrique Moreira Carvalho on 07 Jan 1740. There are records of slaves enterred in the sepulchre of the house of the Brotherhood of the Blacks of the Rosary (Irmandade do Rosário dos Pretos). This volume has records of slaves owned by Teniente Euzebio Alfonso Homem and Captain André da Cunha de Mattoz. Ethnonyms and "nations" mentioned: Guiné (Guinea), Mina, Angola, Benguela, Moçambique (Mozambique). The entries were signed by Vicar Joaquim Nunes Cabral, Zephyrino de Andrade Costa, José Mendes, Custódio Cardozo Cortês, and Florêncio (?) da Roza.
