The volume records burial records of enslaved people registered in the Church of Nossa Senhora do Amparo de Maricá, Maricá-RJ. Entries date from 07 Apr 1852 to 06 Mar 1878. There are no opening or closing charters. The following clergy signed the entries: Sebastião de Azevedo Araujo e Gama; João Francisco da Veiga, coadjutor; Coadjutor José Antonio de Sequeiras; and Francisco Leite d'Almeida Marques. In some entries, the name of the slave's owner is recorded in the margins and the cause of death is noted, such as chest pain (molestia de peito), fever, or parasites (opliação). There are burial records of slaves belonging to one Lieutenant Izidoro Telles Pinheiro.
Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 201 numbered, ink-damaged folios without a cover. Dimensions: 50cm x 34.5cm.
