The volume records baptisms of enslaved and free people registered in the Church of São João Batista, Itaboraí - RJ between 23 Oct 1756 and 30 Dec 1763. There is no opening charter; the closing charter is dated 17 April 1756 and was signed by (?) da Rocha. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Manoel Lopes (?); Bento Joseph (?); Manoel Monteiro Pereira; Manoel José Andrade; and Francisco Pacheco de Oliveira. Some of the records mention slaves owned by one Captain Sebastião Gomes Sardinha.
Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 140 numbered folios. It does not have a cover and has been significantly damaged by ink and insects. Dimensions: 36.5cm x 27.5cm.
