The volume records marriages of enslaved and free people registered in the Church of São João Batista, Itaboraí - RJ between 04 Oct 1684 and 04 Sep 1729. There are no opening or closing charters. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Joseph de Lima; Lucas (?) Gama; Hyerossimo da Silva (?); and Elias Duarte. There is a record of a pastoral visit on 16 Sep 1727 and another on 19 Oct 1729. An index of Baptisms appears on folio 53.
Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 107 numbered folios. Folios 11 and 65-74 are missing; the folios have been severely damaged by insects. Dimensions: 34cm X 25cm.
