The volume records burials of enslaved people registered in the Church of São João Batista, Itaboraí - RJ between 10 Feb 1835 and 06 Feb 1843. There is no opening charter; the closing charter was signed by Vicar Egydio Cavalcanti on 02 Aug 1916. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Vicar Francisco Xavier Faria; Augusto Celerino Ozório; Manoel de Freitas Magalhães; and Joaquim Martins Guizel do Amaral. There are records of individuals interred in Porto das Caixas and burials of individuals who were abandoned at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia.
Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 294 numbered folios. It has a cover and the folios show signs of insect damage. Dimensions: 34.5cm X 22.5cm.
