The volume records burials of freed (forro) and free individuals registered in the Church of São João Batista, Itaboraí-RJ, between 09 Mar 1885 and 15 Aug 1987. Vicar Joachim (J.m) Marianna de Castro Araújo signed the opening and closing charters. Folios 113 through 120 are missing, while folios 200V through 202 are blank. Some of the entries note the cause of death. Among other, the volume records the burial of liberated Africans (africanos livres) and individuals abandoned in the Santa Casa. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Vicar Joachim (J.m) Marianna de Castro Araújo (Ar.o), Parish Priest Aloysio Ricardo Beranger, Father Hugo M. Rego, and Father Domingos Gonçalves de Eiras.
Physical characteristics: The volume is comprised of 202 numbered folios in good condition and a cover. Some of the folios have come loose from the binding. Dimensions: 51cm X 35cm.
