The volume contains baptismal records of enslaved, freed (forro), and free people registered in the Church of São Sebastião de Itaipu, Niterói-RJ. Entries date from (?) Apr 1711 to 14 Nov 1734. The opening charter was signed by Gaspar Gonçalves de Araujo in Jul 1712. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Salvador Correa de (?); Francisco Correa Vidigal; Bras de (?); Luiz Alvares; Pedro Vaz Dias; João Francisco Vieira; and José Moreyra da Silva. The volume also includes some confirmations, signed by D. Antonio de Guadalupe.
Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 22 numbered folios which have been damaged by insects. It does not have a cover. Dimensions: 36cm X 23cm.
