This volume contains burial records of freed (forro) and free individuals registered in the Church of São Sebastião de Itaipu, Niterói-RJ. Entries date from Possui 13 Oct 1754 through 11 Aug 1757. There are no opening or closing charters. Several of the testaments in the volume mention slaves. African "nations" and ethnonyms mentioned: Mina. The volume also includes the burial of one free individual from Portugal. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Vicar Antonio de Madureira e Souza, Vicar Jeronymo Gago da (?), and Vicar Manoel Francisco da Costa.
Physical characteristics: The volume is incomplete and is missing a cover; it consists of 8 numbered, sequential folios numbered 10 through 17 that have come loose from the original volume in which they were bound. The folios have holes caused by insects. Dimensions: 20cm x 29cm.
