This volume records the burials of enslaved, freed (forro), and free individuals registered in the Church of São Sebastião de Itaipu, Niterói-RJ. Entries date from 12 May 1762 through 01 Jan 1766; it has no opening or closing charter. Several testaments mention slaves, property, and emancipations. There are some burials of abandoned individuals ("expostos"). African nations/ethnonyms mentioned: Guiné (Guinea), Angola. The volume documents a pastoral visit realized on 23 Mar 1765 by Vicar Barros. All entries were signed by Manoel Francisco da Costa.
Physical characteristics: The volume consists of 10 mostly numbered, insect- and ink-damaged folios that are out of order. Dimensions: 30cm x 18cm.
