A long concertina contains at least five texts. Additional folios from the same concertina are found atIOL Tib J 134and53. The original folio order in all three manuscripts has been thoroughly scrambled and folios are missing from all. Apart from the present item, which is short and incomplete, the recto contains two works (theSumukha-nāma-dhāraṇīfollowed by thePrajñāpāramitānayaśatapañcāśatikā), while the verso contains three (the *Bodhicaryā-praṇidhāna, theBhadracaryā-praṇidhānarāja, and thesnang brgyad gyi mdo). This first item contains two lines, cut short in the middle, possibly from an unidentified text.

The earliest folio in the present item is actually found in the Pelliot section, though the beginning is missing and there are several additional lacunae. The text should be read in the following order (corresponding lines in the canonical are provided for lacunae): [folios missing =309: 78a.4-8]--[53Dv5]--[folios missing =309: 78b.2-5]--[Rf.1v-2r]--[53Dr2]--[folios missing =309: 79a.7-79b.8]--[Rf.3v-4r]--[Rf.2v-3r]--[folios missing =309: 80b.4-7]--[Rf.4v]--[53Dr7-8]--[Rf.5r-6v]--[folios missing =309: 82b.1-4]--[53Dr1]--[folios missing =309: 82b.7-83a.2]--[53Ar1].
A relatively standarddhāraṇīcontaining a large number of spells. The sutra is taught to an assembly ofśravakas and bodhisattvas led byVajrapāṇi, at "the greatcaityaof thebodhi-maṇḍa." We are repeatedly told that the spells are particularly effective if recited in the morning upon awakening ( 80b.6nang par langs nas klog ).

Incomplete copy, folios of which can also be found atIOL Tib J 134/4and53. The Dunhuang collections contain two distinct versions of this tantra, one that closely resembles the canonical and one that inserts a number of additional passages. The first half of the present manuscript is an example of the former, and may be the closest to the canonical of all the copies in the Stein collection. However, a handwriting change occurs betweenRf.14rand53Dv4, after which the text follows the latter, variant version (compare, for example,Rf.14vtoIOL Tib J 97, 43v.1-44v.2] and121: 282b.2). For a discussion of the variant version, see the entry toIOL Tib J 97.
The text should be read in the following order: [53Ar2]--[Rf.7r-8r]--[53Cr1-2]--[53Dr3]--[folios missing =121: 278b.7-279a.2]--[Rf.8v-9r]--[folios missing =121: 279a.7-279b.2]--[Rf.9v-12v]--[folios missing =121: 280b.7-281a.6]--[53Br1-2]--[Rf.13r-14r]--[53Dv6]--[Rf.14v]--[folios missing =IOL Tib J 97, 44v.2-46v.1]--[IOL Tib J 134/4, Vf.1r-2r]--[folios missing =121: 283a.1-5]--[IOL Tib J 134/4, Vf.2v-3r]--[53Dr9]--[IOL Tib J 134/4, Vf.3v-4r]--[53Dv2]--[folios missing =121: 284a.7-284b.1]--[IOL Tib J 134/4, Vf.4v].
