- Papyrus slip, complete but damaged by insect holes; written on one side across the fibres, the back being blank. There are 6 lines, damaged in places; all margins are extant and measure 10-15 mm. A trace of ink is visible in the lower margin, at c. 70 mm from the left edge. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Dimensions: 80 x 312 mm; housed in a glass frame measuring 150 x 355 mm.
Script: Large, proficient and neat upright cursive hand. Same hand as Papyrus 2837 and Papyrus 1772.

Origin: Antaiopolite nome, Egypt.
Provenance: Aphrodito, Antaiopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2784-2849 as share from a joint purchase arranged with the University of Michigan, Yale University, Princeton University, Columbia University, and Wilfred Merton (b. 1888, d. 1957) from various dealers in November and December 1926, formally acquired in October 1927. Papyri 2823-2849 were purchased from Maurice Nahman (b. 1868, d. 1948).
