1.Author:Title: [chu gtor kyi gleng gzhi dang phan yon]Incipit: 1r.1@/_/ye shes mkhyen ldan 'jam ba'I thugs mnga' zhing /Vajrayāna treatise
After a short introduction, we are told an alternate version of the story seen inIOL Tib J 343, about king 'Khor lo drug pa[Skt. *Ṣaccakra]. Here some additional information is gained, such as the name of the kingdom --Aṅgamahādhana--and the symptoms of the *Cittajvaladisease he contracts--vomiting blood, and intermittently crying out, fainting, and beating his limbs against the ground. We also learn that the prince, here calledMu khyud ldan, retreats to an isolated place in order to worshipMañjuśrīon his father's behalf (1v.1). After three years of performing the propitiation and accomplishment (bsnyen bsgrubs), he still has not seen the face ofMañjuśrī. On his return home, he met a blind man who claims to be able to see the bodhisattva. This drives the prince to despair and he faints. Upon awakening, he is confronted withMañjuśrī, who proceeds to tell the prince of his father's past life as a demon. Here the demonicDzwa la kar mais depicted doing far greater evils than inIOL Tib J 343, causing trouble for the Buddhist teachings and defeating evenMahādevaand the other gods. The cure for the king's present illness,Mañjuśrīexplains, is "to apply thegtor maof pure sacrifice on the shrine of non-duality " (3r.3-4 mchod sbyin dag pa'i gtor ma gnyis su myed pa'i bshams nas sbyar te). Note thatIOL Tib J 343emphasizes watergtor ma(chu gtor) in particular.
