416observes that this item is "incomplete at the end," but withIOL Tib J 462/2added to the end, it is complete. This version is almost identical to the translation (attributed toJinamitraandDānaśīla) found in the canon. The few minor differences (such as the canonical edition reading'jig par byed pa(406: 60b.6) for'jil bar byed pa(Rf.2v.1), or adding'byung po thams cad tshar gcod pa(compare406: 60b.8toRf.2r.4), and so forth) are worth noting however, for many of the earliest commentaries are missing these (later?) canonical additions. The commentary attributed toPadmasambhavais based on an edition bearing a particularly close resemblance to the present item (see, for the examples mentioned above,3503: 169a.2and3503: 169a.8-169b.1). The commentary attributed toBuddhaguhyaseems to fall somewhere between this and the canonical editions. (Though on these two particular examples,Buddhaguhyafollows this Dunhuang version--see3504: 186b.3and186b.8.)
