This prayer does not appear in thebka' 'gyurorbstan 'gyur, but is well-represented in the Dunhuang manuscripts. The other manuscript copies (all in the Pelliot collection) sometimes have truncated titles, but all appear to be the same text.

This prayer of purification through reprentance is the same as the one found inIOL Tib J 208. It is not the same as thegser 'od dam pa'i gyod tshangs(IOL Tib J 450), despite the similarities in the name and idiosyncratic orthography. As well as confession, the prayer is concerned with making offerings, and instructions on making the offerings are interspersed with the prayers.

Prayer toAmitābhaand the aspiration to be reborn in his pure land (zhing mchog). Contains a reference to "themaṇḍalaof sameness " (Vf5r.v mnyam pa nyId gyis dkyil 'khor) and to "themaṇḍalaof dharma " (Vf6v.1 chos gyI dkyil 'khor). The prayer states (Vf8r.3-4) that rebirth in the pure land will be attained by renouncing the four wrong views (phyin ci log bzhi) and meditating on the path of non-duality (gnyis su myed pa'i lam). The theme of non-duality permeates the prayer, which in this respect is similar to the DunhuangAmitābhaprayers transcribed in. Apart from this, the prayers are different. They are also not related to theAmitābhamindfulness prayer found in thebka' 'gyur(154a).
