This concertina manuscript contains three sets ofdhāraṇīspells. It is incomplete at the beginning. However,IOL Tib J 513is part of the same manuscript, and should be appended to the beginning. The firstdhāraṇīspell is from the Chinese version of thedhāraṇīsutra ofAvalokiteśvarawith a thousand arms and eyes (Avalokiteśvarasahasrikabhuja-locananirmāṇavistāraparipūrṇāsaṅgamahākāruṇika-dhāraṇī) which is found in thebka' 'gyur(369). The beginning of this text is found inIOL Tib J, Vf.2v.1.

This item comprises a sequence of spells. The first two are for the bodhisattvas namedSun Rays(nyi 'od) andMoon Rays(zla 'od). These are followed by twomantras taught toĀnandabyAvalokiteśvara, which are in turn followed by a series of spells for a particular purpose, such as subjugating demons, all pronounced byAvalokiteśvarawith a thousand eyes. Finally there is a spell for the bodhisattva calledSingle Point(rtse gcig).
