One of the few works found in Dunhuang that is explicitly classified asAtiyoga, this item has been translated, transcribed, and discussed in59-76. Parts of the work were incorporated into the writings ofGnyan dpal dbyangs(see5082,5920,5922). The first folio of the manuscript contains a brief introduction to the main text. According to this introduction, the text's author is oneSangs rgyas sbas pa(Skt.Buddhagupta). In his discussion of this figure,Karmaysuggests that he should not be idenitified with the earlierBuddhaguhya(Tib.Sangs rgyas gsang ba) who wrote on theYoga tantras. Rather,Karmayprefers to identify him with theSangs rgyas sbas pamentioned in theMahāyogasection of the early tenth century work, theBsam gtan mig sgron.
