Treatise on thesamayavows. Some lines are written in red ink, which may indicate that this is a commentary on a treatment ofsamayain another source, perhaps a tantra. The three vows are: [i] not ceasing the practice ofyi dam, mantraandmūdra, [ii] not disseminating the secret instructions to others and [iii] not developing bad thoughts toward thevajramaster or thevajrabrothers and sisters. In an interesting geographical reference, the highest form of unceasing continuity is compared to the flow of theGtsang poriver. Another aspect of the three roots is the injunction not to develop ill-will toward the master or thevajrabrothers and sisters. Secrecy is also stressed. These vows seem to be closest to theMahāyogaversion of thesamaya. An awareness of othersamayasystems is shown in the closing line, which states that if these three roots ofsamayaare kept, there is no need to add any othersamayavows.
