- Letter to Zenon, presumably from one of his correspondents in Palestine, asking for pitch and timber, necessary for repairing a boat. The author also asks for his salary, corn and a fine cloak to be sent to him. With docket including the summary and address on the back.

Fragment of a papyrus sheet, light-brown, broken off on the sides and complete at the top and bottom; with minor abrasion and some surface damage in places; written on both sides. On the front, there are 11 lines running across the fibres, lacking beginnings and ends with the exception of the last line, which is complete. A sheet-join runs horizontally. On the back, there are 3 damaged lines running along the fibres. Folding lines are still visible. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2243-2304 from Maurice Nahman (b. 1868, d. 1948) through Ernest Alfred Thompson Wallis Budge (b. 1857, d. 1934) on 9 July 1921. Part of a joint purchase with the University of Michigan, Princeton University, Cornell University, the University of Geneva.
