Orme notes at the end that he read this in June 1772, and again in 1777, "with much attention in order to compose the revolutions of Delhi," which subject was to be dealt with in the 14th book of his History. (See 298 (a). 4.)
  • 2, pp. 29-114. Mémoires de l'origine, accroissement et état présent de puissance des Jats dans l'Indostan IIde Partie, suite des Memoires des Pattans. In French, and in the same handwriting as No. 1. above. Copied in XV. 11.
  • 3, pp. 115-118. Extraction et aggrandissement de la famille de Sojaetolla, aujourdhui Nawab d'Avat. In French, and in the same handwriting as Nos. 1 and 2 above.
  • 4, pp. 119-122. Letter, dated Agra, 27th Oct. 1769, from F. X . Wendel to --. In French, and apparently in the same handwriting as Nos. 1-3, If Nos. 1-3 are by Wendel, then they are of importance, as Wendel resided a longtime in this part of India. Wendel suggests an English expedition to Delhi to establish the power of the Mughal.
N.B. Orme intended to use this volume in Book XIV. of his History. (See 298 (a). 4.)
