Letter to Zenon from Psentaes, a farmer employed in the royal-gift estate of Apollonius, the financial minister (dioiketes) of the country. Psentaes did not receive his wage from Zenon and asks to be received by Apollonius and requests a full payment of his salary. He has eleven sub-workers to maintain. He should also be given the outstanding aruras of a plot of land. PSI IV 422 is another letter from Psentaes to Zenon on the same matter.

Papyrus sheet, light-brown, complete but damaged along the left-hand edge and with holes in places, affecting the writing; written on one side across the fibres, the back being blank. The front bears 18 lines; margins are minimal. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

Provenance: Philadelpheia, meris of Herakleides, Arsinoite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 2305-2434 from Dr Kondilios in July 1921. The fragment on the upper left corner was purchased in 1926.
