Letter of the governor Qurrah ben Sharik to Basilius, pagarch of Aphrodito, instructing him to collect and dispatch seven solidi as wages for seven sailors from his administrative district who had gone to Syria for the raiding expedition (cursus) and had stayed there. The original clay seal features a wolf facing right and a star. The back bears the address, date, name of the courier and summary.

Papyrus roll, medium-dark brown, lacking the upper right-hand corner; with holes and minor surface damage along the folds; written on both sides. The front bears 13 lines written across the fibres and fairly spaced; lines 1-7 lack the ends. Upper, left and lower margins are extant; the right, which is minimal and irregular, survives from line 8. At the bottom the original clay seal survives. On the back, two faded lines run along the fibres at the top, written upside down in relation to each other. A small papyrus strip was glued diagonally on the right-hand side. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.
