Lalitopakhyana is a part of the Brahmanda Purana [Brahmāṇḍapurāṇa] which is written as the dialogue between Hayagreeva and Sage Agastya. “Upakhyana” literally means narrative or story. Here, when we say “Lalitopakhyana” (Lalita + Upakhyana), it means “The Great Narrative of Lalita”. It is a beautiful description about not just the goddess herself but it also explains as to how to worship her.
