The Karandavyuha Sutra is a Mantrayāna Sutrawhich extols the virtues and powers of Avalokiteśvara. This Sutra was compiled at the end of the 4th century or beginning of the 5th century CE. It introduces the Buddhist Mantra of 'Om Mani Padme Hum,' which is believed to lead to liberation and eventual Buddhahood.
