- Fragment of a letter of the governor Qurrah ben Sharik to Basilius, pagarch of Aphrodito, concerning arrears of taxes due from his administrative district. A list of amounts was appended, but is no longer preserved. The back bears the address, the date, the courier’s name and the summary. P.Ross.Georg. IV 14 contains the rest of the letter.

Left-hand portion of a medium-brown papyrus, broken off at bottom; the right hand portion is a papyrus at the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, inventoried as 13341 f, published as P.Ross.Georg. IV 14. Writing runs on both sides. On the front, there are the beginnings of 7 lines written against the fibres; the ends of the lines are preserved in P.Ross.Georg. IV 14, which also has one line in Arabic. On the back, there are two lines running along the fibres, written upside down in relation to eah other. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Provenance: Aphrodito, Antaiopolite nome, Egypt. Purchased as part of a lot comprising Papyri 1200-1520 from the Reverend Chauncey Murch (b. 1856, d. 1907) on 20 November 1903.
