- Order from the governor Qurrah ben Sharik to Basilius, pagarch of Aphrodito, to collect 2,000 drachmas for the corn-tax (embole); in case the corn is not forthcoming, a rate of 13 artabas of clean wheat per solidus with transport charge would have to be paid; sent with Papyrus 1436 (P.Lond. IV 1407); with docket on the back.

Medium-brown papyrus with detached fragment, lighter in colour, found separately; lacking the right-hand side; overall well preserved; with writing on both sides. The front bears 15 lines running against the fibres; the detached fragment at the top contains two lines; few letters are lost at the end. Lines are fairly spaced. On the back, there is one line running along the fibres written on the detached fragment the other way up in relation to the text on the front. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.
