The File is a volume containing various copies of the newspaper The Hindoo Patriot.
Extent and format of original material: One bound volume with 312 folio.
Physical characteristics: Page numbers are missing on many pages due to damage. The covers are intact, but severely damaged due to moth infestation. The spine is damaged. A seal is visible on one page. The pages, especially those near the beginning, are extremely brittle The pages are discoloured, moth-eaten, acidic with foxing marks, dark spots and brown patches. The print is faded in some places and too dark in others. Marks resulting from fungal infestations and exposure to moisture are visible. Some pages are have strips of paper pasted to them in an attempt to prevent further damage. A curve appears near the gutter due to tight binding. The item is in a significantly compromised state which has also resulted in the loss of a formidable amount of data. There is writing in pen and pencil on multiple pages. Due to the binding, many pages are crooked. There is writing in Bengali on some pages. Measurements (in cm): 42. 5 x 26. 5 x 5. 3 (with cover), 39. 5 x 27. 3 x 4. 5 (without cover).
